technical issues

I'm interested in applying for the photo awards. For some reason your system or my computer doesn't download the guidelines for spec on images and other requirments you might have. Would appreciate if you could email me a copy.

Thanks so much

Deadlines... did I read

Deadlines... did I read correct that one of the deadlines is on May 5th and the other is on May 15th or is that just a typo?

The deadline is, indeed, May

The deadline is, indeed, May 15 at 8pm EST. Thanks!

guidelines

Same problem as listed above, I can't download the guidelines. Can you e-mail them to me please.

Guideline

I cannot download your guidelines. Is there any other way to get them?

Please e-mail us directly

Please e-mail us directly and we can send guidelines if you have trouble with the download: info@daylightmagazine.org Cheers!

Date of completion

Does the work submitted need to have been completed with in the past, say, 3 - 5 years. Or, can a documentary project from a older date be submitted as well?

What do I have to fill in

What do I have to fill in under Dimensions and Medium of each picture? Thanks. Martin

I cannot upload all 20 images

Your system keeps saying I have reached the limit of 20 images when I have only uploaded 18 or 20 images.

uploading

I suggest you save, logout and log back in. The system will allow for 20 images to be uploaded for the Project Prize. Might just be a server timing out issue or something. We haven't heard of this problem yet so I would imagine it is an isolated problem that will resolve easily by re-logging in. Good luck!

dimensions

Just list the dimensions and medium (i.e., c-print, inkjet, silver gelatin, etc.) of the work as it is typically presented in exhibition. This gives the jurors a better idea of what the work looks like in person.

timeframe of work

You can submit work from any timeframe although we encourage newer work that best represents where photographers currently are in their careers. However, there is no stipulation regarding when work needs to have been produced. Good luck!

technical difficulties

for the last ten minutes now i haven't been able to log in. the page just won't open. my connection is fine. other sites open. just the login page won't.

Can images from a work in

Can images from a work in progress submission comprise a portion of the larger project prize submission?

Is the artist's statement

Is the artist's statement about the work I'm submitting or myself? Thanks

PROJECT PRIZE and WORK-IN-PROCESS PRIZE: Same Project?

May I enter both categories (PROJECT PRIZE and WORK-IN-PROCESS PRIZE) with the same project? Under ENTRY FEES it says, Multiple entries must be for different bodies of work. Under FAQs, How many times can I enter? You can submit as many entries as you wish, however, please note: If you are applying for both the Project Prize and the Work-in-Process Prize (at the discounted fee, which will be applied when you submit payment), you must submit your work under both “programs” on our online system. Just want to clarify, Thanks.

Difficulty uploading my submission

Dear Daylight Crew,I have started submissions for the Daylight Mag/ CDS Awards, however for the work in process award, I am unable to upload my fifth image. The system keeps telling me that I have already uploaded the maximum of five images, when I have only uploaded four. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks so much for your help.

Ready to finish but . . .

I have successfully uploaded everything for both Project Prize and the Work in Progress categories. I have successfully submitted the Work in Progress category through payment and receipt, but the Progress Prize wont allow me to complete. I have added the 20 images, saved but the "NEXT STEP" button is gray and doesn't take me to Complete Submission. I have logged out and re started but no change. What's the next step. I'd rather not have to star over.

My fault....

I had extra images in my library. I deleted and all is well. Done.

Project prize/work in progress: could they be the same project?

Sorry I realize the question was asked but I didn't see it being answered. Could I submit the same project for the project prize and the work in progress?

ARTIST STATEMENT

This question has been already asked but I can't see the answer... Should the artist statement be focused on the work I'm submitting or on my work in general? I'm entering work-in-process prize.

Images?

Hi, I'm trying to apply to the Work in Progress and I seem to have finished it without uploading images. In starting a new attempt, I'm not seeing any way to add images. Any ideas?

I began submitting for the

I began submitting for the work-in-progress prize, but now it seems to require 20 images instead of 5 and i cannot continue to payment without uploading more than 5. confusing.

also, the deadline for the

also, the deadline for the w-i-p prize has not changed to june 1st on the submission form.

I am uploading square format

I am uploading square format pictures but they are being cropped to a rectangular format?

Multiple work-in-progress submissions

The guidelines say that for multiple submissions it is necessary of sign in with different emails (ie creat two accounts). However, when I am in slideroom, it seems to allow me to enter a second wip portfolio for $15 (the first entry being $30). Is that OK?

THANK YOU!

Thank you for extending the deadline!!! :)

Extended Deadline?

As everyone can see the deadline for the Daylight/CDS Awards has been extended to June 1st. Could you please explain the reason for extending the deadline? With the original two month open submission period allowed, it seems very unfair to those who have conscientiously met the deadline of May 15th. The unfair effect is obvious, that those who use the extended deadline are getting a generous advantage that applicants who met the original deadline did not.

Thanks but technical problem

Thanks for extending deadline to June 1st, but I have been struggling to access https://daylightcds.slideroom.com/. Although flash is working fine with youtube, BBC and thousands of other sites, your specific site reports that the flash is not installed (Reads: "Adobe Flash Player needs to be installed or updated to proceed. Your web browser may be up to date but you need to install or update Adobe Flash Player to use SlideRoom. Click here to download Adobe Flash Player." Tried with latest Firefox as well as Opera, but it keeps on giving the same error. :-( Please remove the technical glitch. Maybe with SlideRoom, your SaaS provider ;-) Thanks. NB: I don't have windows and use GNU/Linux (I tried with all flavors, debian, ubuntu and slackware).

Changing requirements for Work In Process...please verify

On the 15th I began the submission process and noted the deadline extension, and the # of images increased from 5, to 5-20. I added 3 additional images for a total of 8. I submitted on the 16th. Reviewing my submission I now see the total is back to 5 for Work-In-Process. Please advise whether I should resubmit? I recognize following your specifications is an important part of the submission process. Thank you, Jane Baldwin

15images out of 20

i am intested in applying to the project prize, but for tech reasons, i only have 15 images ready to send. can I do that? or does it have to be 20 or else i cannot apply? thank you!

Deadline Extension

In fairness to those of us who met your originally stated deadline, you should reactive our Slideroom accounts to allow US more time to refine our submissions. If those applicants who did not meet your deadline are given more consideration than those of us who did, then there is a fundamental flaw your process. Please reactivate our Slideroom accounts. Thank you.

hi. I do not have credit

hi. I do not have credit card. Is there an another way to pay? Thanks in advance, best

can't login

I signed up last week and then tried to log in to Slideroom today but got the message "account not activated." I reset my password, same message. I then tried to re-register, but got the message that my email is already in use. Catch-22.
