Daylight Editor Taj Forer has curated and presented a solo exhibition of Alejandro Cartagena’s series ‘Suburbia Mexicana’ as part of the 2009 Lishui International Photography Festival in Lishui, China. The event promoted international contemporary photography in diverse exhibition spaces throughout the city.

In this series, Cartagena offers a new way of perceiving urban growth by representing the subject matter through his unique photographic works. Cartagena photographs representations of the causes and effects resulting from new suburban sprawl in the metropolitan area of Monterrey, Mexico.
